Emilee Juliette graduated from the Writing for Film & Television program at Vancouver Film School in 2016. It was there that she tried her hand at producing a short film, an absurdist take on a 1950’s sitcom about a family that argues over whose turn it is to deal with their son — who is on fire, appropriately titled The Son is on Fire. After Emilee got a taste of production, she found that it’s much more difficult to convince people to invest in your stories than she initially expected. It was then that she and her writing partner, Darianne Downey, started DEM Productions to be the platform for the content they wanted to see. You’ll be seeing a lot more from DEM Productions, beginning with their pride and joy, Encircled.
